LA FLAG SCHOOL – International Women’s Day: Wednesday, 8th March 2023

International Women’s Day is celebrated the 8th March every year. Once again, the colour yellow and the flower of the mimosa fill our classrooms and hallways at school. This flower is a simple symbol of this day and an easy way for even small kindergarten children to connect to the topic. In primary school, we were able to explain and discuss the importance of this day as well as creating some beautiful art work.

In primary school as well, we have talked about the symbol of the mimosa.

In Class 2 we discovered the patient and beautiful art of paper quilling; which is almost as beautiful as our Class 1 colourful women drawings. They come from many different countries, wearing a variety of traditional clothes, and holding the whole world, around their warm and patient arms, standing for all women’s rights!
