FLAG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL – When Science Erupts… in English!

This week, our students took part in an explosive science adventure—all in English—led by our brilliant and creative American teacher, whose background in archaeology brought an extra spark to the experience!
In our cross-curricular project, children built and erupted their own model volcanoes, using simple ingredients like dish soap, water, baking soda, and cider vinegar. But this was more than just a fun experiment—it was a way to dive into the science of chemical reactions while connecting to the natural history of the Earth, just like real archaeologists do when they study ancient volcanic activity and its impact on early civilizations.
Thanks to this hands-on, immersive project, our students didn’t just learn—they experienced, explored, and spoke science in English. A big thank you to our out-of-the-box thinker and science enthusiast for turning a simple classroom activity into an unforgettable journey through chemistry, language, and history!
